Can I send an email to an inmate through MailInTheCell.com?
Some correctional facilities allow inmate email communication through secure platforms, and this option is becoming more common. At this time, MailInTheCell.com does not provide direct email services. If you’d like to email your prison pen pal, ask them directly which email systems (such as JPay, CorrLinks, or GTL) are available at their facility.
Do inmates have access to phone calls?
Yes, inmates are allowed to make phone calls. Their contact must first be placed on an approved call list. Most facilities use prepaid phone accounts or allow collect calls. The cost and time limits vary by prison, but most calls last between 10–15 minutes. For exact details, contact the inmate’s correctional facility.
Can I write to an inmate if I’m under 18?
No. MailInTheCell.com is strictly for adults 18 years of age or older. It is not safe or permitted for minors to correspond with inmates through our website.
